Trav's Soap Box - A weekly message from the Director
TELLING LIKE IT IS....A unique perspective on police layoffs

"We have to stay one step ahead. Not out of fear of competition. But to achieve our mission - to make a difference in crime in our community." Director Travis Cartner, speaking to a local Lion's Group.

When battling crime, it has to be a multi-fronted attack. Criminals have become more sophisticated, and courts have become more demanding on prosecutors presenting "physical evidence."

ANVIS Protective Resources has "pushed the envelope" again, in the security industry, by developing another 'one-of-a-kind service.' Although our aggressive program is very effective (we generally specialize is a high-volume of random patrols), we have developed a program so that we can have "eyes on" our properties, at all times.

Our video/surveillance unit is able to purchase and install the most "high-tech" equipment on the market. The capabilities range on the clients' needs. Ranging from high-definition video surveillance cameras, to equipment that will photograph an intruder inside a home.

The video is recorded twenty-four hours a day, and our clients have the ability to access the video from their home or office. However, the equipment is monitored during our contracted hours. If the monitoring center sees suspicious activity, a "flash" is sent to the laptop in the officer's patrol car, which is working that area. The officer is able to monitor the suspect's actions, and observe descriptions of the suspects. The officer may utilize other resources (such as on-duty police officers, or other ANVIS officers) to establish a perimeter around the area, and apprehend the suspects.

The other advantage for clients, who elect this option, is that they are able to monitor ANVIS officers and their activities. We want our clients to hold us accountable, and we want our clients to be able to verify that we are doing what we promise to do. Just like in our gated communities (where we have asked that they give us a special code or remote, where they can track our activity), we want our clients to verify that we are on their properties as often as we say they are. Although, the results speak for themselves.
